Summerfaction 2013: Your Fun Weekend Destination

I've been looking forward for my official summer break since March. There were many things going on with my school so I wasn't able to enjoy the whole month of April. Some weeks were spent on studying for my exams and memorizing some items. Indeed, law school is a jealous mistress! Despite all my hectic schedule, I was still able to go to the beach with my blogger friends and travel to Cebu and Bohol with my parents. Now that second semester of my first year in College of Law is finally over (three days ago), I can already do everything I want.

There are many events lined up for my Summer 2013. One of those is attending the grandest summer event in the city: Summerfaction 2013. It is a month-long Music Festival in Davao City from April - May. It will bring Music, Food and Lifestyle together under one roof.

This event will color the summer of every Davaoeño and Davaoeña. Every weekend, new activities are organized to make Summerfaction the best. If you want to have a wonderful summer break, then make sure to visit Tienda del Mercado during weekends. Reward yourself with some fun activities! Bring your friends and family members along.

Check the schedule here:

Weekend 1: April 26-28, 2013
The month-long acoustic band challenge, “Strings Beat the Heat“, kicks off this weekend as bands will be playing their best audition sets nightly for Friday and Saturday. At stake is a chance to open forUp Dharma Down, a multi-awarded Manila-based band, for their show on May 25, 2013. For Sunday, TDM fills our afternoons with Guilty Pleasures, 3-day dessert fair for Saturday and Sunday. Get ready to spoil your sweet tooth with the treats the select exhibitors will prepare just for you!

Weekend 2: May 3-5, 2013
Auditions for the acoustic band challenge will ensue, as well as exhibits from our food and non-food merchants, several of which are favored homegrown brands from all over Davao city. The highlight of this weekend is a 2-hour fashion dog show, “Posh Pups in the City”, which will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, 4th of May.

Weekend 3: May 1-19, 2013
This comeback weekend marks the 3rd and last set for the acoustic band challenge auditions. Participants for its finals will be announced. Also making this weekend memorable is “Mommy’s Day Out” on May 19 (Sunday), a Post-Mother’s day special, to contain a collection of fun gifts and activities that will sure delight the most important woman of our lives. We will have cooking and baking demos, mommy’s tech support booth, live greetings, raffle contests and free roses for mommies. Because it’s never to late to make your mama smile.

Weekend 4: May 24-26, 2013
Capping off this month-long fiesta is the Final Round for our Strings Beat the Heat (Friday) andUp Dharma Down’s live performance at TDM (Saturday). Youngsters from all over the city are expected to pack the area to the rafters. Our exhibitors better be ready for some hectic nights! When Sunday comes around, let’s bring back family fun with our Juna Fun Run and let’s sweat it out, the good way!

  21. It's nice that you get to enjoy summer even if you're in law school :) My bf never got the chance to do so when he was still studying. And when I thought we can travel more after he graduated, came bar exam preparation, and now work. *sigh* Hopefully we'll still get to enjoy summer before it's over.
