melancholy? cheer up!

when i feel sad, i don't let sadness bring me down. instead, i cheer myself up. it should be that way. i can't be sad. i have to be happy.. :)

i will share to you some things to do when you're feeling sad.. why? because i just want to and i want to remind you that YOU NEED TO BE HAPPY TOO.


THE WAYS I DEAL WITH SADNESS

1. HUG ANYBODY OR ANYTHING YOU WANT TO.
a hug will make you feel good. a feeling of comfort will come your way. if you have a good friend near you, ask them to hug you tight. if you're in your room and you have no one around with you, hug your favorite stuff toy, big pillow or any huggable stuff. i'm sure you'll have a nice feeling.. :)

good thing i have stripes with me. she makes me feel good everytime i feel like the world has turned its back from me.. i owe so much to this stuff. i have to keep her around, she knows so much about me! :D


2. TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU FEEL.
one way to get rid of the sad feeling you are having is to talk about it. if you can have a friend who's willing to listen (just to listen and not to talk), then, consider yourself lucky.. you have someone to vent out your emotions. tell him or her what you feel. release the negative energies. but, if you don't have a good listener friend, just talk to your stuff toys. they will surely listen to you until you finish your story and their attention is all yours. plus, you won't worry about consuming their time. of course, you own them! :D



love to talk to my stuff toys at times. why? because no matter what i say and do, they will never react. they will just look at me and it makes me feel good (and stupid.)

3. HEAR AND SAY "I LOVE YOU."
you need to hear and say these sweet words. saying the magical "i love you" / "mahal kita" / "ti amo" / "wo ai ni" will tell you that you are capable of loving, thus, you can't be sad for loving is a great thing to do. thank yourself, you know how to love!
hearing the same magical words will make you feel at your best. you have to know that you are loved. you need somebody or something to tell you that. LOVE. LOVE. i like hearing people say they love me. well, only those who mean what they say..

i got this from my kuya as a pasalubong from greece. everytime i feel sad, i only press a button on it and wait 'til it says "I LOVE YOU." that way, i am reminded i am loved by my kuya.. you have to own one.. :D


4.CHECK THE BAR COUNTER.
look for your favorite wine and drink all by yourself. i mean, MODERATELY. just take the shots you can stand and if you can't take it anymore, stand up and leave the bar counter. sometimes, you need wine tocheer you up.

5. FIND SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU SMILE.
there will always be something that can make you smile - something that can remind you of good memory/ies. take that something, stare at it, hold it, feel it. wait for a couple of minutes until you remember the memory/ies and smile..

the portrait i'm holding is one of the things that can make me smile. i got it as a present on my
18th birthday from a good friend of mine. everytime i look at it, i remember the memories we have together and it makes me happy.

6. TAKE A PICTURE OF YOURSELF.
this works for me. i'm vain eh. just pose, smile and there you go! you have a picture of yourself. a captured moment. :)




these things work for me. i hope it works for you too. :)

note: pictures were taken yesterday. i was sad but still managed to feel great!
