Hunger, Starvation, Deprivation

I remember the time when I walked out from the breakfast table because I didn't like what was served. I thought to myself, "Nah. I don't wanna eat that. It doesn't taste good." My mother, the most understanding and patient person in the world, asked me on what I wanted to eat. So I told her that I want something else. She stood up and prepared my meal. On that morning, I had a cup of rice, slices of chicken nuggets and a cup of hot chocolate. I did enjoy my breakfast on that day.

It was a hot afternoon, I stepped out my room and headed to the refrigerator to find something to drink. I opened the door of the fridge and looked for my all-time favorite juice drink. I was dismayed when I didn't find what I was looking for. I called my mom and complained. She called the maid and asked her to make an orange juice instead. I went back to my room with a glass of juice in my hand but I was so pissed off.

Those were just some of the stupid things I did when I wasn't still aware of how blessed I am for being able to eat three times a day, to have merienda anytime I want to and to eat any food I crave for.

Thanks to the one incident that made me realize that I was so wrong and to my parents who taught me that I should be thankful that i am not one of:
- those street children who beg for food
- those persons who look for food in the garbage can
- those beggars who stay outside the churches
- those robbers who steal in order to have something to eat
- those badjao children who swim in deep waters to get the coins thrown by the insensitive persons who make fun of them
- those who sleep overnight with an empty stomach
- those babies who cry for they have no milk to drink
and the like..

In our little ways, we can help end hunger/starvation/deprivation..

Five Ways To Save Money On Buying Digital Camera Accessories

Five Ways To Save Money On Buying Digital Camera Accessories

You can very easily end up spending a lot of money on digital cameras and accessories. However, there are several things that you can do to save money. Below are some tips that will help you save money on digital cameras and accessories:

Shop Around And Compare Prices

It is wise to shop around before you make any purchase. You may think that you are getting a good deal on camera accessories in one store, but you may find out later that you can get the same things for half the price in another store. You should compare the prices of at least three stores before you buy any accessories.

Consider Purchasing On The Internet

If you cannot find a good deal on camera accessories in the store, then you should consider purchasing them on the Internet. Websites like eBay sell camera accessories for a fraction of the price that you will find in the store. Contrary to popular belief, eBay does not only sell used items. You may be able to get your camera accessories new for a decent price.

Consider Buying Used Camera Accessories

There are many used camera accessories that are just as nice as new ones. However, used camera accessories typically cost a lot less. That is why you may want to consider buying used camera accessories if you will be shopping online.

Negotiate The Prices

If you prefer to buy your camera accessories at the store, then you should consider negotiating the prices with the seller. You can say things like, “Are you offering any discounts today?” You can also say something like, “I would like to make that purchase, but it is a little bit too expensive.” You will be surprised at how many people will be willing to negotiate with you. Furthermore, you can negotiate with sellers if you are buying your camera accessories online.

Only Buy What You Really Need

Many people purchase accessories for their cameras that they do not really need. That is a huge waste of money. You should only buy the accessories that you need. This will not only help you save money, but it will also help you save time. There is no need for you to go from store to store looking for things that are unnecessary.
Many people end up spending more money on camera accessories than the camera itself. Fortunately, you can save money by shopping around, buying from the Internet, negotiating prices and only buying what you really need. You may also want to consider Snappit Digital Cameras and Accessories for your next camera purchase.

Please Dance Slowly

Slow Dance

Have you ever watched kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down,

Don’t dance too fast.

Time is short,

The music won’t last.

Do you run through each day

Or do you fly?

When you ask, “How are you?”

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You’d better slow down,

Don’t dance too fast.

Time is short,

The music won’t last.

Ever told your child,

“We’ll do it tomorrow?”

And in your haste,

Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch

Let a good friendship die

‘Cause you never had time

To call and say, “Hi?”

You’d better show down,

Don’t dance too fast.

Time is short,

The music won’t last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through

your day,

It is like an unopened gift...

Thrown away.

Life is not a race,

Do take it slower.

Hear the music

Before the song is over.

This poem was written by a child, dying of cancer, at a New York hospital a few years ago. I hope it inspires you as what it did to me.

3 Reasons To Explore The Baltic Sea

The Baltic Sea is one of those places that everyone seems to know the name, but not much else. But those who have been to see it will always want more. Because once you start to learn more about the Baltic Sea you'll quickly realise why it's such an interesting place to explore. Whether it's the scenary or the number of countries and cultures or even the languages, the Baltic Sea makes up for its lack of warmer climate. Here are 3 reasons why you should explore the Baltic Sea

Positioned in Northern Europe, the Baltic Sea is bordered by Sweden, Poland, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Lithuania, North Eastern Germany, Eastern Denmark as well as various smaller islands. The varying cultures, languages and countries are just a few of the reasons that make the Baltic Sea a place worth exploring.

Exploring the Baltic Sea is a chance to have a holiday of a lifetime and the best way to do that is with a cruise, as you will get to stop at many of these countries. Cruise1st for example offers great Baltic Sea cruises. Every day will be full of adventure and new activities. Following are just a few reasons why you should take the time out to explore the Baltic Sea.

The Varying Cultures

Visiting any country surrounding the Baltic Sea really gives you the opportunity to explore a different way of life. Whilst exploring the Baltic Sea you'll likely discover many cultures that challenge your current view of the world.

You may not have the time, or patience, to learn every language, but you'll likely pick up the basics. Learning new languages is not only alot of fun, it can also make for some interesting situations.

The Choice of Countries

However many countries you get to visit, you'll most definitely leave with memories that will last a lifetime. Every country has it's own way of life, local produce, fun activities. Wherever you visit, you'll definitely experience something you couldn't experience anywhere else in the world.

Wherever you travel in the world, however many beautiful landmarks you visit, it all comes down to one thing - the people you meet. And the friendships you make. Exploring the Baltic Sea means you're come into contact with various different people, from various different backgrounds, each one teaching you something new about the world.

"To All The Boys I've Loved Before"

"To All The Boys I've Loved Before"

I just want to share a video i saw in Youtube. it's entitled "To All The Boys I've Loved Before" Mayda De Vall. all the things she said in her speech was really great. there was a sound of bitterness on the part one but the part two was quite inspiring.

"To all the boys I've loved before. part one.
WE are not your mothers. You have been weaned from the breast of a woman for years yet you come to us wounded, and half filled with promises you can only keep half the time trying to suck the loss sense of self-dry, WE have become much too accustomed to sleepless nights and damp pillows, have become much too accustomed to waiting for our empty beds to be weighed down with the bodies of men heavy with a set and a hands of other women and

We, simply wanting to be loved, and to love ourselves unconditionally, Simply wanting the truth of whether you can really love us, or not to play, play scarlet letters in our chest; become adulteresses cheating ourselves out of what we truly deserve, willing to settle for less, willing to act like a little less than a goddess, willing to sleep with the enemy. Men too scared to stop acting like boys, thinking we can love away their scars, so we take the lashes of the insecurities they pour in us and lick our wounds in quiet mourning for the little girls that we lose by the minute.

Part two.
You've said you have a photographic memory.
But apparently, you forgot that honesty begins by being real with yourself and the ones you claim you love. The truth, cannot be hidden. what's clouded and darkness will always come to light, my love, you should have known that claiming you saw my light so clearly and brightly. I guess shit happens. I just wish it wasn't me. AND I guess, it's so much better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all, I know that's some easy shit to say but i'm still gonna try to live by it, I'm still gonna try to put my faith to rest in it;

I will sleep on dry pillows now, in a bed big enough to love myself in, I will awake with these coming mornings with my eyes dry and shining full of the knowledge. I am priceless and worth nothing but honesty. I will remove the scarlet letters from my chest and take the hand of the little girl I used to be and say I'm sorry to her, I'm sorry for cheating you out of the joy YOU have always deserved. And I will wait, for a MAN to come along, that can give me the truth of how much he can really love me."

8:23 PM

yes. no internet connection. slow cell signal. friends nowhere to be found. no cable television. a very quite place. these are the exact things i'm enjoying while i'm here in my mother's hometown. i'm currently staying at my tatay's house (my mom's older brother). to be specific: i am here in the music room, lying on the bed as i make this entry which i will be posting as soon as i get the chance to go online (probably two-three days from now).

for the very first time in my own life's history, my parents finally allowed me to stay here in carmen alone (alone means without a chaperon. haha.). my father, the most overprotective person i know (because of too much love), always wants me to be accompanied by my mother or ,my brother everywhere i go. this is the prize of being the only girl in the family.. grrrr. thanks to my upcoming party, i've had the chance to escape from the things i want to get rid even just for a couple of days. the main reason of my vacation here is the meeting i have with the host, the photographer and the planner in butuan city (45 minutes away from mom's hometown). so, before i headed to carmen, i went to butuan for the meeting.

all was set. i'm now free and given two more peaceful and stressless days here..

while i'm here for my vacation, i won't be able to visit my online accounts, to hang out with my friends, to text all day, all night and to watch my favorite shows in myx or mtv. thank you. i'm out again from my stressful world. i'll be back home this coming monday or tuesday. it also means going back to my noisy and messy life in bislig..

all i want to do while i'm here is to lie down in bed as i watch some movies, to read the book i borrowed from my friend, to write something on the sand, to keep my phone on offline mode, to play with my cute baby and to write about certain things. this is great!

mom: the designer.

i must say, my mom is an interior designer with the highest pay. LOL.

she really loves moving the furniture at home from one place to another no matter what it takes. she also loves decorating the house with anything she finds pleasing to the eyes. she changes the curtains frequently depending on her mood. she arranges things according to how she wants it to appear..

i always ask her why she can't leave the tv rack or the dinner table in its places permanently. every time i ask her the question, she would just flash her warming smile and say only because she want to.. i can see that she's happy whenever she sees the product of her act as an interior designer. let me clarify this: my mom didn't finish interior designing. i just call her a designer because that's what she does in our home (only in our home).

so, why can i say that she is an interior designer with the highest pay? because we (the family) pays her our great appreciation. i'm pretty sure that for her, nothing is greater than appreciating the things she does at home. though there are times that i hate the disturbance brought by her actions like a messy kitchen or living room, still i love her for she has the ability to tweak things and simple because she is my mom. :)

one thing i love about her talent is that i feel like i enter a different house everytime i go home from the davao. feb. 14, 2009 - i decided to go home since it was valentine's day and i felt like i needed a rest from the stressful world brought by addu and davao. during my stay at home (residence in bislig), the tv rack was placed facing the door, the long chair was placed on the second living room, the cabinet was faced near the door. that was the arrangement when i left for my studies in davao.. just this march 25, 2009, right after the variety show i presented with my english21 classmates, i headed to the terminal to ride a bus back to bislig. when i came home, i was shocked with the new arrangement. everything was different. amazing. :D

the latest thing she did at home was changing the bar counter at home. when she made the arrangement, i was really in a bad mood because many persons came in and out the house to get the old counter and place the new one while others painted it.. but when i saw it done, i was (again) amazed. i find it really nice and i'm sure my dad would love it too. :)

from this old bar counter..

but still, she retained..

me on the top :)

the new bar counter.

i bet your mom is an interior designer in your own home too.
so, why not thank her for that? :)

the lost prince.

the prince and the princess with the rest. LOL.

God. i missed him (picture above: the guy on my left) so much. after our high school graduation (march 25, 2007), we've lost contact of each other. he went to cagayan to take up bs nursing at xavier while i went to davao to take up bs biology at upmin then i moved to addu to take up bs accountancy.. with our transfer, many things happened like we changed our numbers, got busy with exploring the new environment and the like.

for the two years of not seeing and talking, we finally found the time to meet just three hours ago.. a friend of mine gave his number and asked me if i want to take him as a participant for my upcoming debut party. of course, i said yes. i'd love to. so, without second thoughts, i texted him and asked him if he could. unfortunately, he refused. he said that he really would love to be one of the guys to give me a rose and to dance with me on my special day, but he can't because he has to take summer classes. ay. another devastating answer from a good friend. bakit ba kasi may summer classes? lol. anyway, going back to our exchange of messages.. we both agreed that he'll come to my place to talk and to greet me in advance. :D right there and then, i told my mom that he'll come for a visit and texted some of my friends to come too. so, my mom prepared for our dinner (she's the best!) at 6:30, he came and we fetched some of our friends from their houses.. from there, the fun started..

there were ilang moments. look at the pictures. haha. we talked about many things and realized that it's been awhile since we've had the chance to have a bonding session.. as he left, he gave me a kiss on the cheeks and i smiled. he went to the east as i went to the west. :) this friday, he will go back to cagayan and i will go to butuan.. i have no idea when will we see each other again..

i had a great dinner with him. and of course, with shang, ken and kenny. :)

and yes, i'm melting. lol.

i really love kenna's top. miga? please..

thank you mom for this. i love you! :)

the "perfect" girlfriend.

i was bored. so, i decided to check the different entries made by my friends in their blogs. from blogspot to multiply to livejournal.. then, i came to read a blog post in multiply entitled "the perfect girlfriend~" which was written by a good friend of mine - nikki. i found the post cute so i asked her if i can repost it and she said yes. THANKS NIK!

so, here is a part of her blog entry.. :)

(adressed to a boy)

What is a perfect girlfriend? They say there's no such thing as perfection, and that she doesn't exist.

She dresses up all cute and pretty every time you take her out on a date. This is her way of keeping you interested as your eyes are locked solely on her. You stare at other girls instead, and she gets hurt and upset that all her time and effort were put to waste.
You call her insecure.

She holds on to you like she's never letting you go. This is her way of telling other girls that she's lucky that she has you, and no, you're not available.
You call her clingy.

She calls you the sweetest nicknames, or ones that only you two will understand. This is her way of saying how special you are, and that there's nobody else in this world like you. You call other girls "babe" just as how you would call her, and she gets disappointed.
You call her shallow and jealous.

She checks up on you, making sure you made it home safely or that you're not out getting yourself into any kind of trouble. This is her way of showing how often she thinks about you and that she worries constantly because that's how much she cares.
You say she's nagging.

She cries when you do or say something wrong. This is her way of saying "That hurt only because YOU said it and I love YOU."
You call her overly sensitive and emotional.

She loves you more than you love her. This is her way of dealing with the fact that your relationship wasn't like how it used to be, but she is willing to make room for more love and some changes. You push her away.
You call her dramatic and annoying.

So go ahead. Leave the insecure, clingy, jealous, nagging, overly sensitive, annoying girl.

She will soon be much happier in the arms of someone who actually deserves her:
the perfect boyfriend.
